Big Word Designs

The logo development process usually starts on paper and this project was no different. Before creating any digital designs or choosing fonts, the look and feel of the two birds needed to be explored a bit. After sketching out several concepts for the logo mark, the photos were taken into Illustrator for some tuning and polishing. After reviews and a round or two of changes, the logo was finalized and off to the races for web and print files.

Final Logo Development

The finished product first, here are the winning logo designs. There were multiple versions of the logo for various applications, but these are the core horizontal and stacked versions.

Preliminary Sketches

The goal of the first round of sketches is to get as many unique ideas on paper as possible and then start weeding out the weakest concepts. Once a few decent concepts are on paper, it’s time to keep refining the top candidates.

Vectorizing the Logo

A few logo marks are chosen to move to the next phase of the process. The drawings go into Illustrator for vector editing to make everything razor sharp.
